Parliament of Kyrgyzstan approves introduction of PE regime and curfew

During the extraordinary session of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan, the deputies by a majority vote supported the decision of President Sooronbay Zheenbekov to introduce a state of emergency in some regions of the country from March 25 to April 15, 2020. This initiative, as well as the decision to impose a curfew in the capital of the Republic and appoint the commandant of Bishkek Deputy Head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Almadbek Orozaliyev voted 104 out of 105 deputies registered at the meeting (120 deputies are in the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan). In addition, parliamentarians supported the Government's proposals to impose a state of emergency in the Osh and Jalal-Abad regions of Kyrgyzstan. The news agency recalls that at present a total of 42 people have been registered in Kyrgyzstan, who have been confirmed to be infected with coronavirus infection with COVID-19. Most are pilgrims who became infected while visiting Muslim shrines in Saudi Arabia, as well as their relatives, neighbours and others in contact with them. One infected man returned to the Republic from France. Another 96 Kyrgyz people suspected of being infected with coronavirus are currently in medical institutions where they will have to undergo a more detailed examination.
