Rapper Kanye West registers as US presidential candidate in New Jersey

American rapper Kanye West registered on July 28 as an independent candidate for the presidency of the United States in New Jersey. This is evidenced by data on the website of the election commission of this state. West and his campaign headquarters managed to collect 1327 signatures of registered state voters with a required minimum of 800 signatures. Recall that West has already registered as an independent candidate in Oklahoma and Missouri. In Illinois, West had some problems. There he collected 3.2 thousand signatures in his support, but after they were submitted to the election commission, the authenticity of about a third of the signatures was challenged. It is worth noting that in several states West will no longer be able to get on the ballot, since the deadline for submitting signatures there has already passed. In particular, West will not be on the ballots in the state of South Carolina. As previously reported by the news agency, Kanye West decided to run for president of the United States as an independent candidate.
