Japan sends third team of oil spill specialists to Mauritius

The Government of Japan intends to send a third team of specialists to Mauritius to help eliminate the consequences of the spill near the island of petroleum products from the stranded Japanese ship MV Wakashio. This was announced on September 1 by the Japanese Foreign Ministry. According to the Japanese Foreign Ministry, six specialists will fly to Mauritius, where the second group of Japanese experts continues to work, September 2. Recall that since August 8, Mauritius has an emergency mode in connection with the leak of petroleum products from the MV Wakashio, which belongs to the Japanese shipping company Nagashiki Shipping Co. Ltd. The first group of six Japanese experts worked in Mauritius from 10 to 23 August. The second group arrived on the island on August 19. According to the news agency, thousands of people took to the streets of the capital of Mauritius, the city of Port Louis, demanding that the authorities investigate the causes of the spill of oil products from the Japanese ship MV Wakashio and establish the causes of death of about 40 dolphins found near the site of the oil leak.
