German authorities invest €300 million in the development of a vaccine for COVID-19
The German government will invest 300 million in the development of the company CureVac, which is engaged in the creation of a vaccine against a new coronavirus. This was reported on June 15 by the Ministry of Economy and Energy of Germany. The pharmaceutical company is located in Tübingen. The share in the company, amounting to 23%, will pass to the state banking group KfW. The head of the ministry, Peter Altmaier, said that CureVac technologies can be used to develop new vaccines and treatments, and they can also be made available on the market. In May, the company said that preclinical trials of the COVID-19 vaccine were successful. The first clinical trials involving volunteers will take place in June.
