Average wage decreased in Montenegro in May

The average salary without taxes in Montenegro in May 2020, according to the Monstat statistical department, amounted to 518 euros, which is 0.6% less than in April. The average gross salary in May was 773 euros. Given that consumer prices in May increased by 0.1% compared to April, it follows that real net wages for the same period decreased by 0.7%, the agency said. Average wages without taxes and contributions increased in May compared with April in the construction, information and communications sectors by 4.3 per cent, water, waste management by four per cent, financial and insurance activities by four per cent, electricity by 3.4 per cent, other services by 2.4 per cent, mining by 0.7 per cent and education by 0.6 per cent. Real estate decreased by 15.5 per cent, agriculture, forestry and fisheries by 12.3 per cent, housing and nutrition services by 5.7 per cent.
