NHL allowed its hockey players to perform at the Olympics

Players of the National Hockey League (NHL) will be able to participate in the 2022 Winter Olympics (in China) and 2026 (in Italy), if such an agreement is reached between the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the International Hockey Federation (IIHF) and the NHL. A collective agreement between hockey players and owners of NHL clubs, in which the possibility of players participating in the Olympic Games was fixed, was extended on the night of July 11 until 2026. The NHL and NHLPA commit to participate in the 2022 and 2026 Winter Olympics. For this, conditions acceptable for each party (NHL, NHLPA, IIHF and IOC) must be agreed, the text of the agreement says. According to the news agency, on May 14, the International Olympic Committee reported that the meeting on the participation of National Hockey League players in the 2022 Olympics was positive. Recall, since 1998, the NHL has paused in the regular season of the league for the participation of its hockey players in the Winter Olympics.
