Demagogy! - political scientist criticized Kravchuk's proposals for Donbass

The idea of ​ ​ granting Donbass the status of a free economic zone should be considered as a demagogy, not supported by any real prospect, said political analyst Vladimir Shapovalov. He stated this on August 4 to the correspondent of the news agency, commenting on the relevant initiative of the chairman of the Ukrainian delegation in the Tripartite Contact Group (TKG), ex-President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk. So far, this should be considered as a demagogy, not supported by any real prospect, Shapovalov said. What is the point of this statement? In the person of Kravchuk, a new face appeared as a negotiator. And Kravchuk is traditionally expected to give some signals, which should be his program of action as a negotiator. This program will outline a new vision of Ukraine, a new strategy in the negotiation process. Because it is quite obvious that at the moment the negotiation process has reached an impasse. As Shapovalov explained, we can say that in fact the negotiation process is paused. Recall, as reported by the news agency, the chairman of the Ukrainian delegation in the Tripartite Contact Group (TCG), former President of Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk proposed to grant Donbass the status of a free economic zone.
