Microsoft will stop supporting Cortana on mobile devices
Cortana voice assistant will no longer be supported on mobile devices running iOS and Android in early 2021. This was reported in the Microsoft technical support blog. Microsoft introduced Cortana voice assistant in April 2014. The virtual assistant was supported in the program format for the Windows 10 operating system, as well as on mobile devices running iOS and Android. Cortana was also installed on Harman Kardon Invoke smart columns. Microsoft explained that the company revised the strategy for the further development of the voice assistant. It is noted that in the future Cortana will be transformed from a personal voice assistant like Alexa and Google Nest into part of the Microsoft 365 office software package. Support for the Cortana application on smartphones and other mobile devices running iOS and Android will be discontinued in early 2021. Then the final software update for Harman Kardon Invoke smart columns will be released. As previously reported by the news agency, in May 2020, Microsoft introduced an update to the Windows 10 operating system, in which the Cortana voice assistant was allocated to a separate program.
